Arizona Living Torquay
I had the absolute pleasure this weekend to stumble across the most most gorgeous plant nursery I have ever seen. Whilst out, wandering around an area I had not visited before; I saw a tall baby pink wall and a interesting kind of igloo, in what I thought was someones back garden. It was then my mission to see what this area was, and to my suprise I found Arizona Living nestled between a parade of shops. ( This is the part where I share some facts from Arizona Livings 'about' page )....
"Libby Mclean started selling plants out of her front garden back in 2015. After 2 years she launched a grown up version of Arizona Living in an unused laneway of the sleepy surf coast town of Jan Juc. Tucked away in a suburban area you feel like you're discovering a secret gem and hot damn, if it isn't the cutest little nursery we've ever seen!
A big drawcard for visitors of the nursery is the geodesic greenhouse Lib custom designed and has erected in her funky pink laneway space (check Arizona Living's facebook page for a time lapse of Lib and her partner Anna building the dome - pretty funny). And the whole place feels like you’ve teleported to Joshua Tree or something (‘California Living’ might also have worked).
In term of plant species (because lets get serious that's what this is really about), take your pick. Succulents, spiky desert cacti, indoor plants, hanging baskets and even airplants (they get all their nutrients and water from the air and are very very hard to kill...although not impossible) can be found and the weirder the better in Lib's books. One key thing is all her plants are EASY CARE, no high maintenance plants here.
Libby also stocks a beautiful range of boutique pots, planters and plant-care paraphernalia. From Mr Kitly's range delicious self watering pots to stunning local ceramics there is always a big range of wall planters, baskets, giant macrame's and special items so that with every visit you will find the perfect gift or something little for yourself you can't live without."
Do yourself a favour and pop down to Jan Juc to check out Arizona Living one weekend soon, you won't regret the visit!
